Privacy Policy

We designed Metadata Cleaner around local file processing. We inspect, clean, verify, and prepare reports in your browser instead of uploading selected files to a server.

File processing

We read files you select through browser APIs on your device. We do not include a file upload endpoint, account system, or database for storing selected files.

We keep the original file untouched. When you clean a file, we create a separate clean copy for download and inspect that copy again for verification.

What we do not collect from files

We do not send file contents, file names, hashes, metadata values, GPS values, document properties, dimensions, or file-derived error data to analytics.

Analytics and consent

Analytics is consent-aware and separated from file processing. We do not send file names, file hashes, metadata values, GPS values, document properties, dimensions, or file-derived error data to analytics.

Reports and downloads

We generate cleaned copies and audit reports for download in your browser. We redact reports by default because metadata can contain sensitive personal information.

Local preferences

We may use browser storage for theme preference and consent choices. You can clear these choices through your browser settings.
